KINGSTON (Star): International recording artiste Khago has signed a production and booking deal with Stashment Records to boost his presence in the marketplace both here and in the US.

"Since Stashment has been involved in my career, things just step up, everything in terms of my street presence, my radio play. I have shot videos for my hit songs like Tax Inna My World, and we will be doing videos for songs like That'sAll Mi CareBouton DJ Frass new Riva Stone riddim and Wine Pon The Pole for Elvis' So Unique Records ... Stashment tun up mi ting," Khago said in a release.


Stashment Recordshas been steeringthe careers of red-hot rookie Lanmine, known for his combination Creeping with Fambo, and Digicel Rising Stars personality Jermaine Michaels, who scored a hit last year with the reggae song Cornerstone.

Stashment Records CEO StashaSmith believes that Khago is an artiste with a lucrative future and an act which has the ability and the drive to achieve mainstream success in the competitive US market.

"Khago is an incredibly talented artiste that I have always admired, and his humble ways make him easy towork with, and I think we will have a long-term relationship in terms of booking and production. He has great crossover appeal and a wonderful work ethic. So, right now, we are marketing him as one of the future stars of dancehall music. He is a double threat because his reggae songs are very popular in Africa and Europe and his dancehall stuff is popular in the ethnic markets in the US, so I see big things in his future," Smith said. "In the future, I am looking forward to taking over the full-time management aspect of his career."

Khago has voiced ona new riddim project, Money Machine,for Stashment Records which will be releasedin February.

Khago had been linked with Corey Todd Records last year after a high-profile split with his previous management team.

"Big up Corey Todd, him ah mi real dupes, but he is focusing more on the business aspect of entertainment in terms of his clubs and his other business ventures, so ah just mutual understanding that we come to fi go our separate ways," Khago said.

Khago performed at a club show called 'Destiny' in Miami during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend. He shared the stage with superstar Mavado and fellow Alliance member Bling Dawg. Khago got big forwards for his hit Blood A Boil, but it was his recent chart-topper, Tun Up Di Ting, which got the biggest forwards.

He performed the song for about three minutes or more, with the crowd singing the chorus word for word. He also got a good response for his megahit, Nah Sell Out Mi Friend Dem, earning a big ovation after singing the first few bars and exiting the stage. However, the crowd would have none of it, andthe 2,500-strong audience begged him to come back to finish the song. He rocked the audience then passed the mike on to ZJ Liquid to sing Wifey Walk Out to a huge roar, and then DellyRanx followed up with Headache.

Khago closed his set with Nah Sell Out Part Two and Mi See Badda Dan Dem.

He is booked to appear on this year's Hague Agricultural show on February 22 and the Negril Spring Break concert on March 10.
