Vybz Kartel case update: crowd media back on the case

It has been recently reported by the Gleaner that the 12-member jury at the Vybz Kartel murder trial is expected to return to court today.

The jury and members of the public, including the media, have been out of the courtroom since last Thursday as cybercrimes expert Detective Sergeant Patrick Linton gave evidence.

Detective Sergeant Linton was the head of the Police Forensic and Cybercrimes Unit at the Organised Crime Investigation Division when the police carried out its investigation into the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

Linton is said to be giving sensitive information to the court.

The police had reported that they have video and audio recordings linking Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants to the killing.

Kartel is jointly charged with fellow entertainer Shawn Campbell also known as Shawn Storm, Kahira Jones, Shane Williams and Andre St John for the August 16, 2011 murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

Williams was allegedly killed in relation to two missing guns.

Tessanne Chin will Win The Voice - Blake Shelton

According to recent reports it was indicated that The Voice coach Blake Shelton, whose team has won the last three seasons of the American reality television singing competition, is rooting for Jamaican songbird Tessanne Chin to walk away with this season's title.

Boasting an incredible vocal talent and a rich and diverse culture, Tessanne, who has gained the support of Jamaicans home and abroad, has sang her way into Shelton's heart.

In an article on examiner.com, Shelton said Team Adam's Tessanne is his pick to win The Voice, after seeing how well she did with her iTunes sales.

"Tessanne is my pick to win, and for no other reason than I have eyes, and I can look at iTunes and see what happened yesterday (Tuesday)," Blake said.

'SOMETHING CLICKED'

"I think with her performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water, something happened. Something clicked. She's been great all this time, and I've been one of the first ones who has been frustrated with the fact that she's been kind of held to a reggae sound."

He added: "Just because she's from Jamaica, people expected her to do a specific sound from that country. Tessanne should never be limited. She should never feel like she could only do one thing. She can do everything.

"And I think that when she did Bridge Over Troubled Water, everybody went, 'Oh my gosh!'

"This has nothing to do with her accent or where she's from. This has to do with who else in the world can sing like this girl sings? I'm excited about that for her."

Kartel Case Update: Blood Dont Match so they May Acquit?

The court earlier this week heard an interesting twist in the murder case involving dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel.
Forensic Analyst from the government forensic lab, Sharon Bryson, says that blood found at the alleged crime scene does not match that of Clive "Lizard" Williams.

When Ms. Bryson took the stand in today's session of the murder case, she testified to receiving a  sample on August 24 2011, collected at the Havendale premises by a forensic officer.

This is the premises where the alleged murder of Clive Williams was to have taken place.

Ms. Bryson says that from the tests carried out on the blood sample, the DNA did not match the sample of the DNA taken from the male relative of Clive Williams.

She says that the two samples were compared for a series of markers to indicate relation between the two samples but the necessary markers were not found.
The court also heard testimony for Corporal Shawn Howard who testified that he was stationed at the police cyber-crimes unit on the October 3 2011 and that he received items including several cellular phones, a laptop and video cassettes, from Corporal Abebe Pitt.
He testifies that the items were said to been recovered from searches conducted in connection with this case.
Corporal Howard said that he documented the items and handed them over to his then supervisor.
During questioning from defense attorney Migue Lorne, Corporal Howard admitted that he did not ask for a warrant in relation to the devices ceased nor did he have a warrant permitting him to search the devices for his record taking.
Mr. Lorne highlighted that under the telecommunications act, a warrant is needed for police to search the contents of a person's phone.
Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm along with three others are on trial for the murder of Clive Lizard Williams.

Jim Laden was Stupid

I don't why Jamaican artiste seem to gravitate to trouble, Jim Laden aka Laden... if his name is not bad enough already... this fool...have gotten himself in trouble. it was recently reported that A spliff tail has landed entertainer Laden in hot water with the United States.

Laden was deported back to Jamaica recently after a spliff tail was discovered in his pants pocket by immigration officials while he was being processed in the LAX in Los Angeles, California.

Laden who refused to be recorded, tells Music News that it was an honest mistake and he’s upset with himself.

Laden is not the first entertainer to be caught with marijuana in an airport. Last year, Tommy Lee was busted at Grenada's international airport by police.

Update on Vybz Kartel case

It was reported by the gleaner that Government forensic expert Nicola Brown-Baxter today testified that a fire at the Havendale home of dancehall artiste, Vybz Kartel, appeared to have been deliberately set.

The crown is alleging the Clive 'Lizard' Williams was killed at the same house.

Brown-Baxter further testified that she visited the house on August 29 - almost two weeks after the murder - and observed several areas were fires were started as well as ignitable equipment.

The witness said she also saw several burnt items in the house.

Under cross examination by defense attorney, Christian Tavares-Finson, the forensic expert said when she went to Kartel's house there was no one there.

Meanwhile, policeman Wendell Reid of the Portmore Police later testified that he took a missing person's report from the sister of the deceased.

The cop said he made calls to hospitals and police stations but got no useful information.

And, Corporal Abebe Pitt also took the witness stand today telling the court that he got a number of cell phones from his superior officers and took them to the cyber crimes unit where he got receipts for them.

During evidence last week it was disclosed that a number of phones were seized in connection with the case.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is on trial with four other men for the August 16, 2011 murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

The other men are fellow entertainer Shawn Campbell, Shane Williams, André St John and Kahira Jones.

It's alleged that Williams was killed at Kartel's home in Havendale, St. Andrew, on August 16, 2011.

It's further alleged that Williams was killed after he and another man were taken to the entertainer's house to account for a lost firearm.

Bounty Killer and Mr Peppa New Tune Oppertunity

Im not sure If this is the first combo between Mr Pepper and Bounty Killa but this is a nice little tune. Some critics are already predicting that this song will only last 10 days. If Mr. Pepper is kinda smart he should make sure that he gets a number 1 position with this tune like Samantha J.... a regular member on the charts, like Kalado. How can he do it?,,, I will suggest that he ask Samantha J and Kalado.. they are relatively new artiste and have somewhat made their mark on the music scene already. Pepper been around a long time to the point where he no longer burns, so he should take this Bounty Killer opportunity and run with it.

The tune is called "Have it Lock" and appears to be a PayDay production

2 witnesses testify against Vybz Kartel

According to media reports two witnesses were called this afternoon as the murder trial of dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel began in the Home Circuit Court.

A sister of the deceased broke down in tears as she recounted an event on August 14, 2011 when she said she saw her brother Clive 'Lizard' Williams and a man called Lamar Chow in her living room.

The woman said she was in her bathroom when she heard a loud commotion and when she went to investigate she saw the men in a state of fright.

She said she observed them talking on the phone and pacing back and forth.

She added that that they looked white as though they had seen a ghost.

The witness said she later drove the men to the Portmore Mall and left them there.

She said she last spoke to her brother on the morning of August 16 and she said repeated calls to his cell phone went to voicemail.

She said the next day she went to report her brother missing.

The witness said she knew that her brother and Kartel and some of the accused were friends.

According to gleaner report today One of the co-accused involved in the murder trial of entertainer Vybz Kartel was this morning set free as all 12 members of the jury were selected allowing for arguments to begin.

Fashion designer Calvin Haye was released after the prosecution said it found no evidence against him.

His lawyer, Diane Jobson, said the Crown did the right thing and questioned it they took so long to release her client.

Haye was jointly charged with Kartel, entertainer Shawn Campbell, popularly known as Shawn Storm, André St John, Shane Williams and Kahira Jones for the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

Williams was killed at Kartel’s home in Havendale, St Andrew, on August 16, 2011.

The other man is expected to be the prosecution’s main witness.

Williams’ body has not been found.

However, the police have reported that they have video and audio recordings linking Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants to the killing.

He said the accused managed to get Palmer to a house and ended his life over a dispute of property.

He told the jurors that the case is not a referendum on dancehall or culture but a murder case in which they must decide whether the five accused are guilty or not guilty of murder.

Vybz Kartel Drama continues Today

A artiste impression of a dramatic Vybz Kartel

According to go-jamaica report the jury selection in the murder trial of dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel is to continue for a third day as the process could not be completed today.

This afternoon Justice Lennox Campbell excused two of the nine jurors who were selected yesterday.

One man said he was recently promoted at his job and feared he could lose the promotion if he is at court.

The other man said he is a musician and a caterer and explained that he is busy at this time of year.

The jury selection continued with only two more jurors being empanelled.

Three more jurors are needed to have a full slate of 12 to hear the murder trial.

Justice Campbell said he might have to revisit the list of potential jurors tomorrow so as to have a larger pool to select from.

Meanwhile, the judge enquired about the witnesses and the investigating officer informed that four civilians are available.

He added that the police are having difficulties communicating with two other witnesses.

However, Senior Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Taylor said the Crown had no difficulty to start its case.

Kartel and four other men are charged with the August 2011 murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

Sizza Applogy to Battyboy did not Help

Sizzla Kalonji

Sizzla's return to performing in the United States, his tour of that country has hit a roadblock according to an Observer report.

The "Rastaman No Applologise to NO BattyBoy" artiste has been denied a visa to that country, according to Stephen Brush of International Artists Agency, who spearheaded bookings for the tour.

He said, based on the outcome of the meetings, he has no choice but to reschedule the tour for early next year.

"I am deeply saddened by the news, and I can say this is one of the worst weeks in my career... It is not a dead issue, but I am no longer comfortable waiting and seeing. What I would like to do is postpone the tour and look at re-booking it for February and March," he said.

The seven-date gig was scheduled from November 21 to December 22. Sizzla would have performed at venues in Washington, DC; Virginia; Colorado; and New York.

Sizzla, whose real name is Miguel Collins, has not held a US visa or work permit since 2008 when it was revoked.

Several of Sizzla's songs such as Bad Man Don't Apologise and Murder Dem have portrayed violence towards members of the homosexual community, who have protested his presence in Europe and North America.

In 2007, his concerts in Toronto and Montreal were cancelled after protests by members of the Canadian Stop Murder Music coalition. One year later, he was sent back to the US after arriving in Madrid, Spain, for a concert. Spanish human rights organisations objected against his "hatred against homosexuals".

Mr Vegas Pushing Bounty Killer in War .. in time for Sting 2013

I dont know at what point for sure but i do believe that Mr Vegas was not the tracing type of person... until Sean Paul get big and buss weh leff him. Since then Mr Vegas appear to be very vocal and annoyed by everything, he has toned down a bit these days but it does not take much to get him riled up, and Bounty Killer has. Bounty Killer is the self proclaimed war lord, the hardcore DJ tracer ..not even shebada can test and seems that Musical jabs are usually apparent at this time of year as many entertainers begin to fuel lyrical warfare among themselves in anticipation of Sting.

In a track dubbed Bury Him Fuss, Mr. Vegas comes out swinging at his nemesis Bounty Killa. Mimicking Bounty’s trademark voice, Vegas tease the warlord with the hook “Bowy ago dead fi di Christmas”.... the track also have bites by Bounty killer himself which appear to be the work of the producers or a Vegas a try sound like Bounty...

It was reported by iriefm that Mr Vegas did the track to teach his sons to stand up for themselves.

There have been reports as well that the blecha teacha might be on his way out of jail... but with what happened to Roach im not sure it will be all good for the Jamaican Dancehall star.

Tommy Lee suffers minor Demon Like Set Back

There have been reports as well as pictures ..indicating that the demons may have come for Tommy Lee, of course in the form of a car accident. The Jamaican gothic artiste who has not been prominent in the pass 10 months or more, perhaps due to the fact he may have run out of style, lyrics or even cooperating producers. I heard even the likes of Mutabaruka asking what has happened to Tommy Lee, the DJ has been less in the media and on the turn table in comparison to last year.
We would love to see Tommy Lee quickly recover and back in the studios making his hit demon oriented songs,,, so he should quickly pray to that Spartan Angel and accelerate his recovery.

Bounty Killer Laughing at Flippa Mafia?

Flippa Modeling Flossing
This is definitely a piece of Irony. Bounty Killer used to be taunted by Flippa Mafia.. mocked and blasted for his unfinished house and lack of enough money. Flippa was a modeler.
Now that Flippa is locked up like Buju and Vybz Kartel, is Bounty Killer laughing? At least he should have the last laugh.
It was reported that Flippa Moggela remains behind bars but preparations for a trial are underway.

New information is that a grand jury is to be empanelled in the state of New Jersey to hear the allegations against the dancehall deejay.

Last week, the New Jersey State Police reported that Flippa, whose real name is Andrew Davis, was the leader of an international drug trafficking and money laundering ring that operated between Jamaica, New Jersey and California.

The deejay was arrested in California in September and extradited to New Jersey earlier this month when he was charged.

After a two-and-a-half year probe, New Jersey investigators arrested eight others including members of Flippa’s family during a procedure dubbed ‘Operation Next Day Air’.
Flippa was offered bail in the sum of US$500,000.

Sting 2013 with the Crazy Looking Supercat?

Supercat looking Talibanish
Sting 2013... is going to be different... because they are planning to do a more fomalize format with ..choreographed clashes and all as well as hey don't really plan on having any real clash as we know it. But its gonna be live on the internet. So you can save you plane fare and watch it live for a fee of course.
This year they bringing Back SuperCat.. speculations are that Cat is mad... some are saying that he is not. The last show he did with Shaggy in the states.. he certainly looks mad... but some was saying that he was in hibernation, thus the look. Anyway, 2chains is gonna be at Sting 2013 as well., I don't think he is going to be a local crowd puller though. ,,, the Crazy looking Supercat should be the crowd puller in Jamaica

Jamaican Chinese Tesanne Chin wins in The Voice

Almost every Chinese in Jamaica is referred to by locals as Mr. Chin or Ms. Chin.. its a sign of respect depending how u look at it. Im sure that courtesy and respect has to be passed on to Tessanne CHIN by now. The Chinese decent Jamaican songstress is doing well in the Voice. The American music show. ... so much so that the local station in Jamaica has bought the rights of the Voice and cut the LIve NBC feed ..causing the locals to cry.... it show delayed on National TVJ and Live on cable station RE TV ..
Well Ms. Chin crushed her completion recently as it was reported by the star that Performing a rendition of Emeli Sande's Next To Me, both Chin and Donna Allen gave a chill-inducing performance, which had the judges confused as to which member of Team Adam Levine should advance.

Judge Blake Shelton declared that Allen was the winner in his eyes, however, both Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo disagreed, giving Tessanne the nod.

With Adam left to declare the winner, both contestants looked visibly nervous as they awaited the verdict.

In the end, Chin walked away as the victor of the battle, much to the delight of the audience.

Meanwhile, fans took to social media to celebrate. One person tweeted "Congrats Tessanne fantastic performance and so humble."

Tessanne's husband, Michael Cuffe, tweeted "@Words can't express the pride I feel right now for Tessanne not only an amazing talent, but an amazing human being."

Tessanne also took to Twitter to express her gratitude. "Just wanna say a big thank you to everyone again for tuning in but most of all @DonnaAllenMusic you're amazing and I love you!."

DJ ZJ Liquid drifts from Radio.. and looks to buss big with Minaj and Chris Brown

Jamaican Dancehall artiste and media personality ZJ Liquid according to star news report has received his first international breakthrough in the capacity as a recording artiste, courtesy of a collaboration with Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.

The collaboration is a remix of Brown's latest single, Love More, which currently has over 14 million views on YouTube.com.

The remix featuring ZJ Liquid is produced by Refix King, and, according to the DJ, the connection was first made via Instagram.

"A some guys mi reach out to on Instagram, they did a Miley Cyrus remix and I told them I like it. They then reached out to me and asked me to do a remix for them. When I reached in New York they sent me the Chris Brown track and asked me to record on the remix, so I recorded the verse the same night in New York right before I went to the Shaggy launch and emailed it. He then replied and told me that the label loved it and that they would blast it and send it out. By the time I reach Jamaica, it was already getting airplay," the DJ/deejay revealed.

Liquid says the producers in the US, are already executing an aggressive promotional campaign to break the song. However, he is also gearing up to do his leg of promotions locally. He also says since the beginning of 2013, his career as a recording artiste has improved significantly and has seen him performing at several events in the Caribbean, the US, and Canada.

His single, Bubble, is also a popular song in the dancehall circles, and has been used by several European dancers in their choreographed routines.

Liquid recently filmed the music video for Bubble and is looking to release it in coming weeks.

As it relates to his current collaboration with Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj, Liquid says he is running with the opportunity, as the young crop of dancehall and reggae acts are now making their mark as it ought to be.

"Yu nuh see all A$AP Rocky dem a follow wi. A Shabba swag a run foreign now and a lot of artistes doing well on the international scene. A just the young youth dem a put een the work and a deal wid it the right and proppa way," ZJ Liquid said.

The artiste is also gearing up to perform in the US, this week, after which he will head off to some Caribbean islands then to Canada.

It can be seen that that the Liquid has been drifting from radio, ....well with the multiple suspensions he is hardly there anyway.

Tony Matherhorn.. draws sting 2013 blood goes for the early sting booking

It was recently reported by the star news paper that outspoken selector and sometimes known as a recording artiste Tony mentally ill Matterhorn, has released an explicit and controversial song called Tweet War which unleashes a slew of fiery disrespectful words at fellow dancehall acts Bounty Killer and Mr Vegas.

The song highlights the recent twitter feud between Bounty and Mr Vegas, where Mr Vegas defended himself after Bounty Killer took to twitter, making fun of his vintage outfit on Digicel Rising Stars.

"A nuh afta Sting but I can stir it up. Matterhorn is a mountain mi nuh fraid a nuhbody dats why mi sey dis. A wah happen to dem two b... yaÉ nobody likes me but that's okay I don't like you anyways," Tony Matterhorn sings.

Tony Matterhorn, who lost a clash at Sting last year at the hands of KipRich, has been silent for the majority of 2013.

He premiered Tweet War via his twitter page to over 65,000 followers on October 2, 2013 to mix reactions from listeners. However, the controversial DJ was quick to tell his detractors to take their complaints to God.

"Who else has any complaints, email it to God cuz my e-mail is filled right now. Afta dark mi sey," Matterhorn's tweeting continued.

"Don't say I style anyone because it's all here on twitter. If you're offended, do your next best and I am easy to find. That's for the groupies LOL," he tweeted.

Tony should be commended for taking the initiative in making attempt to bring interest to Sting 2013... already Ninja Man had indicated that it will be a different sting this year. Since money rules here ...there is nothing wrong with securing an early booking... especially if they were not even thinking of putting Tony on the show.

Vybz Kartel and his band his Contraband ie

It was recently reported by the gleaner news paper that at the request of his lawyers, the Police High Command has reportedly launched an investigation into reports that contraband was found in the cell of entertainer Vybz Kartel.

In a news release on September 18, the Constabulary Communication Network reported that the contraband, a DVD player, an Apple iPod and two cellular phones, were found in Kartel's possession at the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Kingston.

The police have said the items were seized in connection to a murder inquiry being conducted following the shooting death of popular music producer Patrick Samuels otherwise called 'Roach'.

However, Attorney-at-Law Tom Tavares-Finson, said his client was given legal permission for the DVD player and Apple iPod and has since submitted a copy of the permission granted to Kartel, whose given name is Adidjah Palmer.

He argued that the news release was calculated to prejudice a pending murder trial involving Kartel and wrote to several State authorities including the police commissioner calling for an investigation into the motives of the police search.

Tavares-Finson told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre last night that officials from the police commissioner's office visited Kartel last week Thursday as part of an enquiry.

The lawyer has also said their investigations revealed that the phones, reportedly taken from Kartel's cell, were taken from an adjoining cell.

Kartel is to go on trial in the Home Circuit Court on November 18th in relation to the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

Bounty Killer and Mr. Vegas... like girls in tracing match

Last week it reported that there was a war of words on social networking site Twitter between dancehall entertainers Bounty Killer and Mr. Vegas.
In what was described as a nasty twitter spat, the two veterean Jamaican dancehall music deejays exchanged some heated words arguing about money, masculinity and their respective careers.
It was reported that in one of the many tweets, Mr. Vegas said “Let’s talk money! How much you got?”.... taunting Bounty Killer about the innability to amass enough wealth over his years in the business.
Bounty Killa in his entertaining and rhyming fashion quickly shot back with “Money mek you get so funny, let’s talk about dignity, pride and masculinity?”
The two deejays caontinue the argument in what seem like forever wirh fans of both deejays taking sides.
It is well known that the feud between Bounty Killa and Mr. Vegas dates back to the late 90’s.
It is not known if Bounty Killer and Mr Vegas has spoke about the incident.

Popcaan Fame Grows

Jamaican DANCEHALL STAR Popcaan has won unlikely endorsement from US rapper Drake, after the All Me hitmaker added the young entertainer's brand to his clothing line.

Popcaan's 'Unruly Gang' label has been featured on the Canadian superstar's popular OVO (October's Very Own) brand.

Two T-shirts on www.octobersveryown.com channel the entertainer's 'unruly' jargon with 'OVO Unruly Gang' and 'Y Pree' printed on them. The latter is a slang oftentimes used as a substitute for saying 'wah gwan'.

Popcaan's popular Unruly Rave music video had heavy OVO influences and the entertainer can be seen sporting OVO wear in the video directed by Niko of October's Very Own.

The OVO website also features a two-minute remix of Popcaan's Be Like Me.

Popcaan, who was discovered by fellow dancehall star Vybz Kartel, is yet to comment on the union.

Lets hope Popcaan gets more than just salt and butter from this union... His music shall live forever but there is noway on Gods earth that he will make money forever. So the young Jamaican star should make money as much as he can ... whenever the oppertunity comes around

Toots try to Milk it Rass ..more lawsuit re busted head with vodka bottle

There is information coming out over the media that Court documents show that Toots Hibbert of the legendary reggae band Toots and the Maytals has filed a $20 million lawsuit against Venture Richmond and Metropolitan Richmond Sports Backers Inc. over injuries that occurred when he was hit with a vodka bottle during performance in Richmond.

The lawsuit further states that the Richmond performance was part of a nationwide tour and the cancellation of other shows, due to the incident, have cost Toots significant income.

The claim also reveals that Toots Hibbert’s injuries left him unable to record compose compositions or make public appearances.

Toots was struck in the head with a vodka bottle during a stage performance in May. After suffering a deep head cut, the veteran entertainer received several stitches.

Mr. Vegas doing things Chronixx havnt done yet - teams up with Beyonce

According to Visions Newspaper International megastar Beyonce has gone Dancehall with her latest single Standing on the Sun by collaborating with Dancehall Superstar Mr. Vegas.

The new track, which is a Reggae SOS mix of the original song, has kept tongues wagging as it is a prime candidate for the first single off her yet to be released album.

On the track, Mr. Vegas' gritty yet melodic vocals perfectly complement Beyonce's mezzo-soprano voice which is versatile on an authentic dancehall beat. He starts off in straight dancehall style with, "Gyal u body turn up mi seh it tun up tun up, gyal yuh hot like the sun seh u yuh tun up tun up…". With Beyonce following, "My body is magnified, in the sun set me alight, my body in your delights, burn me up, set me alight…"

According to Mr. Vegas, the collaboration is a good one that he expects to go places: "This is a really good song, Beyonce's people reached out to me and sent me the vocals and I reached out to renowned producers Clevie and Danny Brownie and we did the mix with the help of engineer Rohan Dwyer. I was a bit surprised when I heard the song being played everywhere in Jamaica a few days ago and since then it has been blowing up both locally and internationally".

Elephant Man diss the Germans

MUNICH, Germany — Deejay Elephant Man is taking a beating in the German press which reports he has not shown at several reggae shows for which he was booked.
It is also alleged retainer fees were collected on his behalf.
One of the shows is the annual Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival, one of Europe's largest reggae shows, which takes place in the south of Germany in August.
Elephant Man was advertised to perform on August 23, opening night of the three-day show in Uebersee near Munich. Contacted by the Jamaica Observer, Maria Perreiter, public relations officer for Chiemsee, referred to a public announcement on the show's website which reads: "We regret to inform you that Elephant Man will not be appearing at the Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival 2013. After appearing on various shows in Europe, the artiste has hastily left from Brussels towards Jamaica, apparently with a six-figure amount he received in advanced payments as retainer fees from several show promoters. With this behaviour, Elephant Man has shown that he has no regard for contracts, and even worse, for his fans."
It is also reported on the Internet that Elephant Man failed to show for a concert at The Docks in the German city of Hamburg on August 17. It is alleged he was paid a retainer fee by promoters. The promoters were, however, not available to confirm or deny these allegations.
Elephant Man has had prior run-ins with German promoters. Scheduled tours to the country by the self-proclaimed 'Energy God' were cancelled in 2009 and 2012.
Contacted by the Observer, Elephant Man denied claims by organisers of the Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival that he failed to show.
"I didn't have any show in Germany on Friday, nor did I collect a deposit to perform. I was in Europe for two weeks where I performed at several music festivals. If I was slated to perform on Friday I would not have left the continent on Thursday to return to Jamaica," said Elephant Man.
He added that he had another engagement in the United States last Friday.

After what happened at the national stadium in Jamaica recently it was recently revealed that The promoters of Canada’s Rastafest have bowed to the gay and lesbian community following their protest to have Queen Ifrica pulled from the event.

In a message to Music News, Masani Montague, Rastafest’s main organizer said “Due to circumstances beyond our control Queen Ifrica will not be performing at RASTAFEST.”

The promoter’s decision to pull Queen Ifrica came from Canada-based gay group, The Jamaica Association of Gays and Lesbians Abroad who viciously advocated for the minister of Citizen and Immigration Canada (CIC) to withdraw the work permit issued to Queen Ifrica to perform at Rastafest International Reggae Concert at Downsview Park tomorrow (Saturday, August 24).

The calls to have Queen Ifrica axed came following comments she made during her Grand Gala performance at the National Stadium.

Ifrica has since hit back with a song inwhich she chants "What happen to my freedom of speech".

Mavado Refuse to share stage with Tommy Lee?

Mavado
There have been reports from the media in guyana that Jamaican dancehall singer Mavado thjis week refused to take the stage at the Slingerz Summer Jam held at the National Stadium, Providence because of myriad problems including being transported to Guyana on a tiny plane that saw him getting wet by rain.

Known as the ‘Gully God’, Mavado is set to explain to his Guyanese fans this afternoon why he did not leave the Princess Hotel last evening. Sources have indicated that one of the problems was him sharing the stage with his Jamaican counterpart Tommy Lee. Mavado was apparently was unaware that he was part of the show.

The singer, who has entertained his Guyanese fans countless times before, has indicated that the promoter, Slingerz had promised to send a jet to transport for him but instead it was a tiny plane that turned up and it was very cramped for him and his 16-man band members. The plane left Jamaica at around 7 am yesterday but was forced to make several stops to refuel and did not arrive in Guyana until last evening. On nearing the Ogle International Airport there was another problem as the organisers did not get permission for landing and the aircraft was forced to return to Trinidad. The plane eventually was allowed to land at around 10 last night. In the end the `Gully God’ just refused to entertain.

Gaza Slim aka Vanessa Bling defends herself

According to a recent star report Dancehall artiste Gaza Slim has distanced herself from at least two facebook pages and an Instagram profile which have been created on her behalf. According to Gaza Slim, the pages are sending messages to her fans which do not represent her views and she wants to put an end to it.

According to the Independent Ladies singer, unscrupulous persons have been using the profiles to propagate rumours.

"Vanessa Bling, aka Gaza Slim, does not use Facebook, BBM or Instagram. So whosoever is pretending to be me needs to stop. People who know Slim know that I don't use any of those networks. I was on blackberry messenger and I have been off since five months ago. Rumours have been spreading that I had a fight at a courthouse and that is not true," she said.

propaganda

According to the artiste, she would never tarnish her reputation to take part in a public squabble and she wants persons to desist from spreading that propaganda.

"Big-up to my true fans and friends who have been supporting me from the start until now, as well as my nice clean boss, freedom is a must. It's not what man say, it's about what God say," a seemingly upset Gaza Slim said.

She also took the opportunity to rubbish claims by the media that her close associates confirmed that she was in an argument with Vybz Kartel's common-law wife, affectionately called Shorty.

"I'm so vex about that. Nobody fi mi neva talk a court or give nuh report, it was the fans," Gaza Slim said.

The artiste is currently riding high with the success of her latest single called Whine, produced by UIM Records. The song currently has over 200,000 views on YouTube.com.

Gaza Slim was also featured in a song called Children Are Our Future, which denounces crimes against children.

Vybz Kartel book goes to Princeton University?

Kartel n Gaza Slime
According to Dancehallarena... Vybz Kartel book now in the Prestigious Princeton University‘s Library; Duke University in North Carolina; Vanderbilt in Tennessee and even the New York and British Library systems.

Publishing company still waiting to hear if book will be taught in schools in the Caribbean – Co-Author believes that politicians will block it despite support from Academia because it exposes the JLP and PNP.

Princeton University is one of the most prestigious tertiary institutions and often vies with Harvard in debates about the top University in the United States of America. 92% of its applicants are rejected and it serves as the alma mater for at least 2 US Presidents, current first Lady Michelle Obama and Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos. Albert Einstein is known to have frequented the University and now Adidja Palmer aka Vybz Kartel and Michael Dawson’s book Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto sits on its shelves despite resistance in Jamaica to do the book justice and have it taught in schools.

Dawson who serves as co-Author and CEO of Ghetto People Publishing, a company committed to investing to give a voice to the voiceless; says though it is a honour for him and “Addi” to have their work grace prestigious institutions – their main goal in writing the book was and remains, getting it into the hands of Jamaican youths so that they can learn about themselves and how to make a better life in the so-called Ghetto.

“We knew that the content was powerful and factual, therefore, it is not really a surprise that University after University keeps ordering. However, the first time our representative visited the University of West Indies book store, they shunned us. Politicians cringe at the thought of the book being taught in school as it exposes the severe harm that the two main political parties have done to our people,” said Dawson. “Mark my words, it will be in every Jamaican household because the powers that be will want to know what is it in this book that is empowering so many to look outside of politicians for solutions.”

Ghetto People Publishing apologizes for the distribution challenges it has been having but asks fans and academics to be patient as this is a Vybz Kartel product and it is not always easy to keep up with demand. The company also announced that it made the decision to start printing in four different countries to speed up delivery times.

Eek-a-mouse escapes 20yrs for illegally plant his Cocky where he shoudnt etc

It was recently reported that Jamaican Reggae performer Eek-A-Mouse, born Ripton Joseph Hylton, has been released for time served in a plea agreement reached by Hylton's attorney, Phillip Hayes, and Assistant District Attorney Lauren Arizaga.
Hylton was scheduled to appear before Judge J. Carlton Cole in Dare County Superior Court on July 8 to face felony rape, felony kidnapping, felony cocaine and misdemeanor marijuana charges. When case number 56 came up during the court's calendar call, Arizaga said, "That was previously disposed of by plea."In the plea agreement settled on July 1 in Camden County Superior Court, Hylton pled "no contest" to two misdemeanor charges – assault on a female and attempted crime against nature. He was sentenced to 75 days imprisonment for the first offense and "given credit for 75 days spent in confinement prior to the date of this Judgment as a result of this charge." Sentenced to 45 days on the second charge, he was "given credit for 45 days spent in confinement prior to the date of this Judgment as a result of this charge."Hylton, 55, was arrested in Kill Devil Hills on Aug. 16, 2008 and charged with forcible sexual assault, possession of schedule II cocaine, kidnapping and possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana. He had performed at Port O'Call on Aug. 15 and allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old woman at 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 16 at the Colony IV Motel in Kill Devil Hills. The victim was a former Dare County resident who was visiting the area.Released on $52,000 secured bond, Hylton later left the country and did not show up for a court date in 2010. Superior Court Judge Jerry Tillett issued a warrant for Hylton's arrest with a $1 million bond for failing to appear. He was found in Paraguay last November without a proper visa, deported and later extradited from Florida to North Carolina to stand trial on the rape, kidnapping and drug charges.Hylton had faced as much as 20 years in prison if convicted of all felony charges.

Salena Gomez
In a recent report it was indicated that Pop singer Selena Gomez who recently celebrated her 21st birthday, has done a remake of Buju Banton’s 1995 hit tune “Champion”.

The track starts with Buju deejaying the original lyrics before Selena comes in singing. The chorus features Selena who is reportedly still dating Justin Bieber singing the lines “Walk Like A Champion”.

So is Selena’s version of Buju’s smash single a hit or a miss? ..well according to critics ..it was f u ck ing horrible .."I have no problem with Miley Cyrus making twerk videos or songs about twerk videos, but Selena Gomez’s reworking of Buju Banton’s hit tune “Walk Like a Champion” is just terrible. It should have never happened and it’s too bad there’s no way to strike it from existence in every dimension just in case there are alternate universes. As if Buju Banton, who’s currently sitting in prison under dubious circumstances, wasn’t punished enough, this comes along. You can hear his original here and compare it to her rendition which is so bad of a perversion, it should barely be considered a cover. Or a homage. Or anything. Also, Selena’s birthday song, which also sounds dancehall-y, sucks."
