Toots try to Milk it Rass ..more lawsuit re busted head with vodka bottle

There is information coming out over the media that Court documents show that Toots Hibbert of the legendary reggae band Toots and the Maytals has filed a $20 million lawsuit against Venture Richmond and Metropolitan Richmond Sports Backers Inc. over injuries that occurred when he was hit with a vodka bottle during performance in Richmond.

The lawsuit further states that the Richmond performance was part of a nationwide tour and the cancellation of other shows, due to the incident, have cost Toots significant income.

The claim also reveals that Toots Hibbert’s injuries left him unable to record compose compositions or make public appearances.

Meanwhile, The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that Venture Richmond objected on Monday to the allegation of negligence, saying the teen charged is totally responsible.

Toots was struck in the head with a vodka bottle during a stage performance in May. After suffering a deep head cut, the veteran entertainer received several stitches.

Toots Hibbert has also filed a lawsuit against the 19 year old accused of throwing the vodka bottle.

Mr. Vegas doing things Chronixx havnt done yet - teams up with Beyonce

According to Visions Newspaper International megastar Beyonce has gone Dancehall with her latest single Standing on the Sun by collaborating with Dancehall Superstar Mr. Vegas.

The new track, which is a Reggae SOS mix of the original song, has kept tongues wagging as it is a prime candidate for the first single off her yet to be released album.

On the track, Mr. Vegas' gritty yet melodic vocals perfectly complement Beyonce's mezzo-soprano voice which is versatile on an authentic dancehall beat. He starts off in straight dancehall style with, "Gyal u body turn up mi seh it tun up tun up, gyal yuh hot like the sun seh u yuh tun up tun up…". With Beyonce following, "My body is magnified, in the sun set me alight, my body in your delights, burn me up, set me alight…"

According to Mr. Vegas, the collaboration is a good one that he expects to go places: "This is a really good song, Beyonce's people reached out to me and sent me the vocals and I reached out to renowned producers Clevie and Danny Brownie and we did the mix with the help of engineer Rohan Dwyer. I was a bit surprised when I heard the song being played everywhere in Jamaica a few days ago and since then it has been blowing up both locally and internationally".

Elephant Man diss the Germans

MUNICH, Germany — Deejay Elephant Man is taking a beating in the German press which reports he has not shown at several reggae shows for which he was booked.
It is also alleged retainer fees were collected on his behalf.
One of the shows is the annual Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival, one of Europe's largest reggae shows, which takes place in the south of Germany in August.
Elephant Man was advertised to perform on August 23, opening night of the three-day show in Uebersee near Munich. Contacted by the Jamaica Observer, Maria Perreiter, public relations officer for Chiemsee, referred to a public announcement on the show's website which reads: "We regret to inform you that Elephant Man will not be appearing at the Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival 2013. After appearing on various shows in Europe, the artiste has hastily left from Brussels towards Jamaica, apparently with a six-figure amount he received in advanced payments as retainer fees from several show promoters. With this behaviour, Elephant Man has shown that he has no regard for contracts, and even worse, for his fans."
It is also reported on the Internet that Elephant Man failed to show for a concert at The Docks in the German city of Hamburg on August 17. It is alleged he was paid a retainer fee by promoters. The promoters were, however, not available to confirm or deny these allegations.
Elephant Man has had prior run-ins with German promoters. Scheduled tours to the country by the self-proclaimed 'Energy God' were cancelled in 2009 and 2012.
Contacted by the Observer, Elephant Man denied claims by organisers of the Chiemsee Reggae Summer Festival that he failed to show.
"I didn't have any show in Germany on Friday, nor did I collect a deposit to perform. I was in Europe for two weeks where I performed at several music festivals. If I was slated to perform on Friday I would not have left the continent on Thursday to return to Jamaica," said Elephant Man.
He added that he had another engagement in the United States last Friday.

Queen Ifrica pocket burn after Burning Fishes ..and cries for freedom of Speech

After what happened at the national stadium in Jamaica recently it was recently revealed that The promoters of Canada’s Rastafest have bowed to the gay and lesbian community following their protest to have Queen Ifrica pulled from the event.

In a message to Music News, Masani Montague, Rastafest’s main organizer said “Due to circumstances beyond our control Queen Ifrica will not be performing at RASTAFEST.”

The promoter’s decision to pull Queen Ifrica came from Canada-based gay group, The Jamaica Association of Gays and Lesbians Abroad who viciously advocated for the minister of Citizen and Immigration Canada (CIC) to withdraw the work permit issued to Queen Ifrica to perform at Rastafest International Reggae Concert at Downsview Park tomorrow (Saturday, August 24).

The calls to have Queen Ifrica axed came following comments she made during her Grand Gala performance at the National Stadium.

Ifrica has since hit back with a song inwhich she chants "What happen to my freedom of speech".

Mavado Refuse to share stage with Tommy Lee?

Mavado
There have been reports from the media in guyana that Jamaican dancehall singer Mavado thjis week refused to take the stage at the Slingerz Summer Jam held at the National Stadium, Providence because of myriad problems including being transported to Guyana on a tiny plane that saw him getting wet by rain.

Known as the ‘Gully God’, Mavado is set to explain to his Guyanese fans this afternoon why he did not leave the Princess Hotel last evening. Sources have indicated that one of the problems was him sharing the stage with his Jamaican counterpart Tommy Lee. Mavado was apparently was unaware that he was part of the show.

The singer, who has entertained his Guyanese fans countless times before, has indicated that the promoter, Slingerz had promised to send a jet to transport for him but instead it was a tiny plane that turned up and it was very cramped for him and his 16-man band members. The plane left Jamaica at around 7 am yesterday but was forced to make several stops to refuel and did not arrive in Guyana until last evening. On nearing the Ogle International Airport there was another problem as the organisers did not get permission for landing and the aircraft was forced to return to Trinidad. The plane eventually was allowed to land at around 10 last night. In the end the `Gully God’ just refused to entertain.

Mr Vegas and Chronixxx trading blows?

Mr Vegas is well known for his self expression about issues with other artiste or even current affirs...

Chronixxx jabbed back at vegas ...ever so sweetly... saying that he respect the "bruk it Down " singer ..just that He has been to shows where Mr. Vegas has never been to, being veteran and all in the Business ..implying already Chronixxx is no fluke no ordinary artiste and perhaps will be more of high calibre artiste than Mr.Vegas

Gaza Slim aka Vanessa Bling defends herself

According to a recent star report Dancehall artiste Gaza Slim has distanced herself from at least two facebook pages and an Instagram profile which have been created on her behalf. According to Gaza Slim, the pages are sending messages to her fans which do not represent her views and she wants to put an end to it.

According to the Independent Ladies singer, unscrupulous persons have been using the profiles to propagate rumours.

"Vanessa Bling, aka Gaza Slim, does not use Facebook, BBM or Instagram. So whosoever is pretending to be me needs to stop. People who know Slim know that I don't use any of those networks. I was on blackberry messenger and I have been off since five months ago. Rumours have been spreading that I had a fight at a courthouse and that is not true," she said.

propaganda

According to the artiste, she would never tarnish her reputation to take part in a public squabble and she wants persons to desist from spreading that propaganda.

"Big-up to my true fans and friends who have been supporting me from the start until now, as well as my nice clean boss, freedom is a must. It's not what man say, it's about what God say," a seemingly upset Gaza Slim said.

She also took the opportunity to rubbish claims by the media that her close associates confirmed that she was in an argument with Vybz Kartel's common-law wife, affectionately called Shorty.

"I'm so vex about that. Nobody fi mi neva talk a court or give nuh report, it was the fans," Gaza Slim said.

The artiste is currently riding high with the success of her latest single called Whine, produced by UIM Records. The song currently has over 200,000 views on YouTube.com.

Gaza Slim was also featured in a song called Children Are Our Future, which denounces crimes against children.

Vybz Kartel book goes to Princeton University?

Kartel n Gaza Slime
According to Dancehallarena... Vybz Kartel book now in the Prestigious Princeton University‘s Library; Duke University in North Carolina; Vanderbilt in Tennessee and even the New York and British Library systems.

Publishing company still waiting to hear if book will be taught in schools in the Caribbean – Co-Author believes that politicians will block it despite support from Academia because it exposes the JLP and PNP.

Princeton University is one of the most prestigious tertiary institutions and often vies with Harvard in debates about the top University in the United States of America. 92% of its applicants are rejected and it serves as the alma mater for at least 2 US Presidents, current first Lady Michelle Obama and Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos. Albert Einstein is known to have frequented the University and now Adidja Palmer aka Vybz Kartel and Michael Dawson’s book Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto sits on its shelves despite resistance in Jamaica to do the book justice and have it taught in schools.

Dawson who serves as co-Author and CEO of Ghetto People Publishing, a company committed to investing to give a voice to the voiceless; says though it is a honour for him and “Addi” to have their work grace prestigious institutions – their main goal in writing the book was and remains, getting it into the hands of Jamaican youths so that they can learn about themselves and how to make a better life in the so-called Ghetto.

“We knew that the content was powerful and factual, therefore, it is not really a surprise that University after University keeps ordering. However, the first time our representative visited the University of West Indies book store, they shunned us. Politicians cringe at the thought of the book being taught in school as it exposes the severe harm that the two main political parties have done to our people,” said Dawson. “Mark my words, it will be in every Jamaican household because the powers that be will want to know what is it in this book that is empowering so many to look outside of politicians for solutions.”

Ghetto People Publishing apologizes for the distribution challenges it has been having but asks fans and academics to be patient as this is a Vybz Kartel product and it is not always easy to keep up with demand. The company also announced that it made the decision to start printing in four different countries to speed up delivery times.

Eek-a-mouse escapes 20yrs for illegally plant his Cocky where he shoudnt etc

It was recently reported that Jamaican Reggae performer Eek-A-Mouse, born Ripton Joseph Hylton, has been released for time served in a plea agreement reached by Hylton's attorney, Phillip Hayes, and Assistant District Attorney Lauren Arizaga.
Hylton was scheduled to appear before Judge J. Carlton Cole in Dare County Superior Court on July 8 to face felony rape, felony kidnapping, felony cocaine and misdemeanor marijuana charges. When case number 56 came up during the court's calendar call, Arizaga said, "That was previously disposed of by plea."In the plea agreement settled on July 1 in Camden County Superior Court, Hylton pled "no contest" to two misdemeanor charges – assault on a female and attempted crime against nature. He was sentenced to 75 days imprisonment for the first offense and "given credit for 75 days spent in confinement prior to the date of this Judgment as a result of this charge." Sentenced to 45 days on the second charge, he was "given credit for 45 days spent in confinement prior to the date of this Judgment as a result of this charge."Hylton, 55, was arrested in Kill Devil Hills on Aug. 16, 2008 and charged with forcible sexual assault, possession of schedule II cocaine, kidnapping and possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana. He had performed at Port O'Call on Aug. 15 and allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old woman at 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 16 at the Colony IV Motel in Kill Devil Hills. The Kill Devil Hills Police Department said the kidnapping charge stemmed from the victim allegedly being held against her will. The victim was a former Dare County resident who was visiting the area.Released on $52,000 secured bond, Hylton later left the country and did not show up for a court date in 2010. Superior Court Judge Jerry Tillett issued a warrant for Hylton's arrest with a $1 million bond for failing to appear. He was found in Paraguay last November without a proper visa, deported and later extradited from Florida to North Carolina to stand trial on the rape, kidnapping and drug charges.Hylton had faced as much as 20 years in prison if convicted of all felony charges.
