Tommy Lee Sparta Flopped the worse way ever

It was recently reported in a news media that ....For Tommy Lee Sparta concert, It may not have been exactly what he expected when he agreed to perform in Trinidad on March 24. In fact, it may have been a bit of a shock to even the event's promoters and the younger party lovers who seemed to have embraced the 'Psycho' vocalist for the better part of the past year or so- this of course when the reality sunk in on show night at Guarracarra Park, South Trinidad, that the crowds would never arrive.

Tommy Lee Sparta- known by his fans as Uncle Demon arrived in T&T on Friday. He made the rounds with the event's promoters to the urban frequencies, however we understand that he was not welcomed at one particular station. At 94.1FM, he was interviewed and responded to questions about the branding of his persona as a demonic character. He said it was just a character. Showing off his numerous tattoos, the entertainer was photographed at the station with a headdress covering his head. ETCETERABUZZ.COM was told that he did not remove the head covering at any time during his stay at the station. In fact, we understand that he even covered his mouth as he spoke with announcer, Jahmoun Mendoza. Pretty strange. Nevertheless, he had arrived in Soca territory to perform at a concert event at the Southern arena. His songs, described as gothic dancehall have been controversially acclaimed across the Caribbean. In Jamaica, much like in Trinidad, the younger audience have gravitated to the persona of Tommy Lee Sparta- chanting the words to songs like 'Some Bwoy', 'Psycho' ,'Buss A Blank', 'We Want Paper' among others. With that, the Trinidadian promoters obviously felt they would receive a good turn out to the Southern end of the country this past Saturday. That thought however, would prove to be a wasted one.

Jamaican dancehall artiste, Tommy Lee

According to reports, the venue was bare on show night with merely a few patrons showing up to see the Flankers, Jamaica native. Online, photos taken showed an empty venue. It is reported that the artiste did not perform. Today, views poured in online. Many attested to being happy that Trinidad and Tobago nationals refused to be in the presence of the artiste who refers to himself as 'Uncle Demon'. They relayed feelings indicating that T&T has too many praying souls to be infected by the words of this particular Jamaican artiste. Still, there remained others who commented in support of the young PG13 label head. Despite the tit for tat comments however, one thing is relevant to the situation and that is the fact that Tommy Lee Sparta did not receive a warm welcome on what was his first visit to Trinidad and Tobago. Whatever the reason, we'll let you be the judge, but one thing we're certain of and that's the fact that the 'buss concert' wasn't such a good look for the new 'big thing' out of JA. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how that augurs for his ongoing musical career.

Tommy Lee Sparta meanwhile has been nominated for the 2013 International Reggae and Music Awards in the categories of Best Male Disc Jockey/Rapper and Best New Entertainer.
