There is no confirmation yet,,,but there is word that Mavado was Kicked off stage, roughed up even, after what is described as a 'poor performance' at an Italian venue. The top Jamaican Singj was perhaps performing at Parco Gondar, Gallipoli in Italy on Sunday August 8th.
"WoW-just watched Mavado get Booed off stage, chased & even kicked (yes literally) out the venue. Italian's ain't playin-they were like, 'Bi*ch, WE the 'original Gangsta's'! WHY u ask? The whole nite was jacked; Promotors fault he went on 2 hrs late but his fault for not singing his own songs-not even a lick of 'On the rock', just stuck the mic out 4 the crowd 2 sing along. They'd had enough.."We know that Italy has source for them real gangsters emulate ... now the gangster for life was busted up in the real gangster's city. We hope he is ok... and the person who is to blame for this dosnt just get a wrap on the knuckle ... in any case i hope this is lesson to all in the business.

Alliance memers are on a tour of europe, Mavado was in Geneva and gave a good performance , well no one complained there. Mavado is expected to turn up at Vienna in Austria @ Volksgarten on the 10th ... tomorrow.

ReplyDeletedid he performe? we left the venue around 3am when they were starting to remove the equipment on the main stage. everybody went to the smaller stage where channel one outta uk played. furthermore a guy who was involved in the event told me that mavado wouldnt performe because of not enough guests.

i dont think anyone will book movado ever again in europe...

ReplyDeletemavados show in vienna was maddd! no karaoke ting! if the ppl would be more attentive they would see that he has a secand singer who is singing the hooks wid him, so you can hear the lyrics sometimes too if mavado is not singing.
many artists have a secand singer in the background...

ReplyDeleteI saw Mavado in Sweden and it was obvious that something is wrong with his voice, it was broken and hoarse. He needed a real back up singer very sloppy, but to be honest nuff of these big artist don't work for their fans no more that why I love the independent ones, check out my favorite @ www.sayeedtijani.com, the youth is hot and he is up and coming. nuff respect

thats not mavados fault. italians dont speak english at all and dont know the lyrics. mavado did his best in italy throughout the audiance was so poor...

Mavado is a good artist, ok.. but he is really not professional.. And a lot of jamaican artists are really not professional when they are in italy..
He came on stage 2 hours later (2 hours!!), sings (??)for 45 minutes and go away.. and italian people (obviously) was very angry..
NO RESPECT for the fans, for the people who pay the ticket to see his performance, for the promoters who give him a lot of money (he has a very very very large cachet!)..
A lot of jamaicans do this kind of things: i remember, in salento, elephant (2 times), richie spice, barrington levy, now movado..
I think they must become more professional if they want to play again in italy..
Mavado is a gangster? I don't know, but I hope he didnt come in italy no more..
