Straight Jeans and Fitted is another so called dancehall track that has a strong hip hop over tone. The tune is one of the latest from Vybz Kartel along with producer Russian from Haed Concussion Records.With this track Kartel once again prove his natural inclination to do tunes with producers, he had done tunes with Don Corleone, Stephen McGregor, Notnice and now Russian....
Im not sure if this is going to be a hit ..as was the case with Clarks and Ramping shop which had a beat that was Hip Hop in nature -- clarks was very much a dancehall beat --- straight jeans and fitted does not fit into the dancehall genre based on the beat and delivery style ..its considered to be dancehall based only because it was done by Jamaican Producer and Artiste.

Is kartel on the run?... well according to reports the DJ should have turned up at the Portmore Police station this monring .. he didnt. After expressing to media houses yesterday that he would have been at the station by 9am... he was a no show, and one now have to ask if he is on the run. The lawyers had indicated however that they are "working on the way top proceed."
this was a statment released by the DJ.. on the matter yesterday..

I, like millions of other Jamaicans, have certain concerns about the potential violation of my civil rights and liberties during this State of Emergency, however, I will grant the police an audience this morning as they have declared me a "major person of interest", and placed my name on a list populated with a number of alleged criminals.

This is not the first time that the police force has attempted to smear my reputation based on half-baked assumptions and ridiculous rumours, but as it happened then, I know I will be exonerated once again. I have nothing to fear. Fear makes men believe the worst, but I believe in our justice system, however flawed it may be, and in the end, I will be vindicated. I remain confident that the security forces will act with professionalism in this matter.


I have engaged legal counsel to safeguard my rights, and the truth will prevail.

It is still not clear as to why the DJ is being described as "a major person of interest"..and thus swelling his head .... He has been arrested before but none of the charges seem to stick. One thing for sure is that the DJ appear to be getting whiter and whiter by the minute..and we know that bleaching and skin lightening creams are illegal stuff in Jamaica..so he being wanted could be along those lines... he must have a supplier, because I dont think he has a skin disease like Micheal Jackson..and surely there is enough sun in Jamaica to prevent what is happening to the fellow..and we know this dude aint got know visa to be hiding form the sun.

The Barbadian Rihanna, according to reports, was caught smoking the same thing that Popcaan was smoking and got busted for recently. The thing is no one saw the young lady actually puffing the stuff however a Barbadian news paper did report that the Diva and her entourage continuously set off the smoke alarm and that sweet aroma greeted security personnel each time they went to investigate, banging on the door to find out what the hell is going on in there. The Diva, as she did some time ago with her ex-boyfriend, allegedly wrecked the premises as well, the high class hotel is calculating the bill and is said to have banned her from the hotel.
I should tell you Rihanna be careful they just might ban you from Barbados and Trinidad.. you acting like a Jamaican dancehall artiste arent you?... If the story is true then ..we could say that the young lady could have the same passion as Gaza Slim ..and express how much she has an affection for that bush....that sweet bush

Christopher 'Dudus' Coke left the island today on his way to the United States to answer breaches in firearm and drug laws in that country. The promoter, businessman and so-called modern day Robin Hood was escorted to the airport from Up Park Camp in a JDF helicopter where a plane was waiting for him, he departed to the United States at approximately 2:05 pm.
Now Who's next?... What of all them cancelled visas?.. Bounty Killer and the other artists should see some glimmer of hope ..since it was always thought that the artists lost their visas due to their association with Coke.

Coke Caught

The man that is said to be behind the facilitation of dancehall events such as Champions in Action and Passa Passa was caught yesterday on the Mandela Highway in St Catherine. It was reported that Dudus aka Prezi aka Shortman and otherwise called Christopher Coke was on his way to the US Embassy with the Rev. Al Miller when they were intercepted by police. Coke is wanted in the United States for drug and weapons charges, he might be facing some charges here in Jamaica for the 16 year tenure as leader of the Shower Posse and a multitude alleged illegal activities over the time period. Miller is now wanted by the police for questioning after he thought that the police were 'taking Coke' to the Embassy, they did no such thing. Miller indicated in an interview that Coke wanted to bring the issue to an end when house of parliament yesterday extended the state of emergency by a month and into the St. Catherine Parish.

The Love for Nicky Minaj in Jamaican Dancehall music is rising

Nicky Manaj.. is one of the most well known "sadomite"...(which is the colloquial expression used to describe lesbians ..See video at 0:21 and the males are usually referred to as Battyman ..see video at @ 0:16)... in the music business. She is very much open about her lifestyle that some critics describe as fake. Recently she appear to have been working with a number of Jamaican affiliated musicians, and as you may know Jamaican artistes are described as some of the most homophobic in the galaxy. I am not surprised or even phased by the fact these entertainers are working with Nicky Minaj, because with visa being cancelled all over the place and the recent social unrest Jamaican artistes are not hesitating to latch onto any opportunity.
The Jamaican affiliated entertainers that has made some effort to have working relation with Nicki Minaj which includes Merciless, he did a remix of nicki's track Your Love. There are also official and unofficial collaborations with the likes of Gyptian and Sean Kingston. The interactions with Nicky and Nicky related material have caused these entertainers to be on the receiving end of some flack from hard core fans..but not enough to grab any attention... perhaps the wild west Kingston tragedy have had most people distracted. The Gyptian track 'Hold Yuh' that Nicky Manaj endorsed ...is said to be doing even better now that she had done so. Sean Kingston collaboration "Dutty Love" with the self professed sadomite hip hop star is manifesting in the form a video shoot at the moment. The scheduled video shoot is said to be in Ocho Rios Jamaica over the weekend. It was in a recent report that Sean Kingston had expressed his affection for Nicky...and perhaps would make her his wife.... ANYWAY... the video is right on the heels of the drake video and Sean has indicated his intentions to outdo Drake's "Find Your Love" video which was shot in Port Royal Jamaica.

There was no apparent effect on Blings career though and the DJ wasn't really phased by the insult from Kartel... however he did make the effort to remove what appeared to be a stigma to some in the business...
Now the issue relating to Jacket!!?...ahhh forget it...

Terry Linen in Trouble

Terry Linen and his brother are said to be in police custody.. after some alleged altercations that implied the the two were wrong in the actions they took against their fellow man.
This is a bit surprising as Terry Linen is not even remembered since the year started and then all of sudden his in the light with bad news. We are not  too certain of the story behind the incident that lead to the 'Linnen Brothers' bringing a weapon into play.... the action was deemed contrary to local laws and customs of the parish St Elizabeth where the incident took place.

Gyptian Crashed yesterday off his motor bike. It was just recently top dancehall artiste Movado met the same fate off his bike (thats how 9 lives was born) round about the time he was stripped of his "visa rights". Gyptian is said to be "ok" however he had undergone an MRI....to determine the extent of the brain/head damage if any.
Gyptian has been flying high with his single Hold Yuh... but this should be an indication---- no-- a clear and forthright instruction to dispose of that weapon of artiste destruction -the bikes.

There have been reports that Beenie Man and LA Lewis were in a tussle at O'Neil Edwards funeral over the weekend. Details are sketchy but it appears that the incident was a result of LA Lewis scratching Beenie's car with his. This caused the self proclaimed king of dancehall to discipline the the graffiti god.
Of all the places to grab an attention, they chose the funeral of the former Voicmail member. If this is not distasteful we dont know what is--- i refuse to call it a publicity stunt.. there has to be some element of genuine mistake here.. or is that LA Lewis dont have insurance?
The family and friends of O'Neil will now see that the problems are deep in this island where ignorance is concerned.

This one by Sean Storm is like none that he has done before. It has a nice melody (thanks Mavado*) and definitely can be described as the artiste first hit... Its not a in My Cupp... but has a ear catcher to it... Its interesting how these so called no talent personnel in the Gaza camp can stay in the lime light more than most expected..
Its a pity Shawn will not be able to replicate the hits as fast as we wish.. We expect a hit from him every 100 to 150 tracks.. but at some point maturity should kick in...
There are few more artiste that dont sound too bad... there is Mertial's Pray on the same Gangsters City Riddim, Kartels Thank you Jah and Popcaan's  Gangsta's City... its a notnice production.. Im wondering if this was produced before or after the Havendale studio was closed
