I got an email yesterday giving condolences to the death of Byron Lee. To my knowledge and I have checked with my sources and I have not heard anything of the sort. We know that death is inevitable but one should not make such pronouncements with out confirmation.... or is it my info is wrong? If this is nothing more than hot air I am apologising to the family and friends of one of Jamaica's musical greats.

The source says one of the band members VIC Taylor had a cardiac arrest. He is alive and well!!! He is a respect figure in JAMAICA that would be a news alert on BBC and all over.

ReplyDeleteI am a friend of Byron Lee's and can tell you that he was still very much alive up to last evening, October 31st. The following email was sent out late Thursday evening by his daughter Deanna. She asks that the RUMOURS BE STOPPED and that we continue to keep him in our prayers as he continues to fight his battle.

My Dad is very much alive. Since this morning we all have been bombarded with e-mails, calls, faxes, etc. re a rumour which started in Canada that my Dad passed away at 4am today. This news is also now being circulated in the USA.
Not true. Please circulate this mail to everyone that he is very much ALIVE and is bravely fighting to his very last breath.
My Dad lived his whole life as a warrior and based on his current mental strength and willpower, intends to die as one too.
Please keep him in your prayers and continue to send him much love and hope!
